Who needs take out when you have Ahara Foods?

My husband and I love eating Indian food, but have never really been able to cook it at home.  The number of spices involved seems overwhelming — where do you even start?  Plus, who wants their chairs stained by curry and cumin?  Eating out always seemed like the easier solution.  That is until we discovered is this amazing site that sells pre-packaged Indian spices with rice and accompanying directions.  We decided to try the Sauteed Chicken in Spiced Tomato Sauce, which included 8 different spices, a pack of Basmati rice and 2 recipe cards (one for the chicken and one for the rice).  My husband did the cooking that night.  After a quick stop at the supermarket for some cilantro (we had all the other ingredients on hand), he was ready to go.  He reports that everything was beautifully pre-measured and that the recipe cards were simple to follow.  Forty-five minutes after he started, we all sat down to a restaurant quality meal — lucky me!

Though we’ve made curry dishes in the past, this meal was in a different league altogether.  The spices were well-balanced and provided the perfect combination of flavors (so cool to cook with fenugreek, whole fennel, and garam masala powder for the first time!)  I can’t wait to try another one of their packets.  And this time, I’ll do the cooking!

Now, of course, this is also the time for me to mention how well my SmartSeat Chair Protectors held up to the curry and cumin.  Yes, we spilled.  And yes, my SmartSeat Chair Protectors saved us the cost of a cleaning service and worked soooo much better than towels.  Now I’ve just got to get my 6 and 8 year old boys to try our home-made Indian food!

If you’d like to try making Sauteed Chicken in Spiced Tomato Sauce (or one of the other amazing recipes), make sure to visit  And when you do, use the discount code SEATCOVERS at checkout to save 20% on your total purchase.  How cool is that?  The folks at were so nice that they decided to give my blog readers a discount!  Oh, and don’t forget to pick up your SmartSeat Chair Protectors so that you don’t end up with curry stains on your chairs.

Happy eating!
